ABOUT ME
Unveiling the heart behind the work

Freshman year of high school, I decided to take a random journalism class to fill my schedule and heard the professor was cool. After four years, my passion for journalism has only grown and at exponential heights.

I immediately fell in love with the sports journalism side and made it my whole high school experience. I out sprinted all the local newspapers to get the interviews with the star quarterback and the winning coach and spent every Friday night covering the football games. I would stay up editing all night to beat the papers and publish my article on our school newspaper first. I won, almost every time.

That was just my freshman year experience. Since then, I've learned so much about the media, press, and myself through my journey. I learned that I like long form articles and projects but also game recaps and statistics. I grew more comfortable with asking the hard questions in interviews and appreciated a sense of comfort and friendship that came out of interviews.

Since my high school experience working and running my school newspaper then transitioning into a freelance role for a local paper before moving to college, I built a solid foundation of my passion for sports intertwined with my curiosity within journalism.

Although I still have a long ways to go, my goal through Azusa Pacific's Journalism program is to get my foot in the door, build more connections, gain more experience and exposure to new things such as broadcasting, video production, and podcast. I'm excited about the challenges I will face, stories that are yearning to be heard, and people that I'm eager to meet and work alongside before one day ending up on ESPN, SportsCenter, or behind the scenes of future award-winning sports documentaries.
